Case Study

University of British Columbia
Exercise Run Down

Full-scale Exercise (FSX)

In 2018, Ally collaborated with the emergency planning team at the University of British Columbia (UBC) to meticulously plan and conduct an FSX simulating an intentional vehicle attack leading to a mass casualty incident. This comprehensive exercise mobilized the complete emergency response infrastructure of the university, with support from various external agencies prepared to intervene in a real-life scenario. Participants utilized this exercise to rehearse the protocols associated with site evacuation, medical response, traffic control, and the intricate public relations aspects inherent in managing a mass casualty event within a university environment.

Participating agencies included:

  • Royal Canadian Mounted Police
  • Vancouver Fire Rescue Services
  • BC Coroners Service
