Deborah FolkaSenior Associate
A crisis communications and issues management expert for over 25 years, Deborah has worked for a variety of public and private sector organizations in both Canada and the United States. She has provided counsel to many organizations in sensitive or ‘crisis’ situations, as well as helped clients train and prepare for the challenges of communicating internally and externally during emergencies.
She has an undergraduate degree in communications from the University of Washington, a graduate degree in journalism from the University of Arizona and is an accredited member of the Canadian Public Relations Society and the Public Relations Society of America.
In the community, Deborah has been an on-air volunteer for Pacific Coast Television (KCTS), secretary-treasurer for the Family Council at George Derby Veterans Hospital and provided pro bono public relations services to the women ski jumpers who sued to participate in the Olympic Winter Games.
